In addition, she served as a staff member of AYF's International Leadership Camp for four years, is a former executive board member of the National Association of Student Activity Advisers, and is a frequent presenter at student activities conferences. Lyn was instrumental in the founding of the Alliance for Student Activities, a nonprofit association to promote the value of student activities, served as its vice president from its inception in 2007 until 2014, and is a member of its board of directors.

Editor from 1995–2007 of the award-winning Leadership for Student Activities, published for student council and National Honor Society advisers by NASSP, Lyn also served as editor of Dimensions magazine, published by DECA from 2006–2009, and as editorial consultant for Teen Times magazine, published by Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), from 2005–2010.  She has also worked with the Technology Student Association (TSA), SkillsUSA, the Alliance for Student Activities, National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), Herff Jones, Inc., National Middle School Association (NMSA), and state student council associations in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Oregon, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada.
